Schick was established in 1986 by LG and JH Schick. Not until1999 did the company take on its current name Schick Construction and Cartage. Before the name change the company was predominantly a cartage and rural digger business. In 1999, Patrick Peoples bought the company and took over the reins as Managing Director developing Schick into what it is today.

From a fleet of 12 trucks and 2 diggers, to a fleet of over 60 heavy earthworks and cartage plant items, Schick has grown steadily over the past decade. We are still earthworks and cartage specialists, but now include in our attributes local body and highway infrastructure works, retaining wall and minor bridge constructions, coastal & river bank protection and stop bank construction, multiple drainage and pavement (grader) crews, and a concrete crew.

As a privately owned company, we have a well respected reputation for quality and service throughout the Waikato, Taupo and Coromandel area and have successfully completed contracts in Auckland, East Coast, Central Hawke’s Bay, South Wairarapa, Bay of Plenty, Waiuru & Taranaki.
