POSITION 2: SURVEY ASSISTANT
As a Survey Assistant, your role will be to assist our surveyors onsite, and to carry out other tasks as work dictates.
 
We are looking for someone who:

POSITION 3: D8T & D7E OPERATORS
We are currently looking for a fulltime experienced D8T and D7E operator to be based in the greater Waikato area. A good remuneration (pay rate) and hours of work will be offered to the successful candidate.
 
You must have Dozer and Scoop experience in this industry, hold the appropriate licenses, be a team player and have good communication skills.
 
Applicants must have NZ residency or a current valid NZ Work Permit.

POSITION 4: HEAVY DIESEL MECHANIC

POSITION 5:  WORKSHOP ASSISTANT
We are looking to employ a workshop assistant who has a keen interest in mechanical repairs and a willingness to learn.

You will be based within the workshop/yard and required to assist the mechanics with various tasks as requested. These will include, but are not limited to:
  • Keeping the workshop and yard in a clean and tidy state
  • Washing and cleaning parts, plant and vehicles
  • Collecting parts and dropping off and collecting vehicles

You must have a current, clean full Class 1 Driver's Licence and either be a NZ resident or have the right to work in New Zealand.

The suitable applicant will have the opportunity to further their career with onsite training being offered. 
 
POSITION 6: ROLLER / MOXY & WATERCART OPERATORS
 We are looking to employ experienced Roller, Moxy and Watercart operators, with experience in the Construction industry being an advantage.
 
The persons we are seeking will need to hold at least a Class 2 Licence, with WTR licenses being an advantage.
 
You will need to demonstrate initiative, good time management and organisational skills, and have the ability and experience to work with minimum supervision.
 
You will also need to be a good team player and possess the ability to cope with the physical demands of the job – ie lifting, carrying etc.

POSITION 7: TRACTOR & TRAILER DRIVER
We are looking to employ an experienced fulltime Tractor and Trailer driver, with experience in the Construction industry being an advantage.

POSITION 8: CONTRACT MANAGER
We are seeking an experienced Contract Manager – Siteworks, with experience in New Zealand to join our team. This position is based in Hamilton, with the possibility of work in Auckland.
 
Reporting to the Divisional Manager, your responsibilities will include contract management, including setting and meeting financial and resource budgets, programming of projects and resources, claiming the works, liaising with clients and subcontractors, managing crew on sites as well as being able to oversee our supervisors.

 To be considered for the role you will need:
  • BE or NZCE equivalent
  • Relevant experience and a history of high performance in construction contract/project management and/or supervision within New Zealand.
To be proficient in the use of:
  • MS Project – to enable build up and updating of construction programmes on contracts and resource plant forward planning.
  • Claiming works – including variations and all supporting information
  • Excellent communication skills
  • To be team orientated
  • Strong reporting skills – financial and programming
  • A strong focus on Safety and Quality
  • Full Class 1 Driver’s License
  • An understanding of NZS3910 and the Construction Contracts Act.
  • A positive ‘Can do’ attitude and passion for the contracting industry with a desire to excel in all areas.

POSITION 10: EXPERIENCED DRAINLAYER
Due to increased work load we are currently looking to employ an experienced Registered or Certified Drainlayer to join our team.
 
Reporting to the Site Manager you will be responsible for the day to day running of a drainage crew, including ‘hands on’ installation and operational works. You will also have a high degree of understanding of current Health & Safety requirements and practices.
 
To be considered for the role you will need to have:
  • Extensive Drainage experience, preferably within the Construction industry
  • Problem solving skills and the ability to work in pressure situations
  • Adaptability and flexibility in your work approach to meet customer deadlines and challenging weather conditions
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • A full current Drivers Licence
    You will also need to be Honest, reliable and punctual.
    And a WTR licence and excavator operator experience would be an advantage.

POSITION 12: DRAINAGE DIGGER OPERATOR
We are currently seeking to employ an experienced Drainage Digger Operator to work as part of our drainage team.
 
You must have extensive experience in the excavation and installation of Stormwater, Sewer and Watermain services and be willing to assist in the general day to day duties of a drainage crew.
 
The person we are seeking will need to be a motivated, reliable team player, with good communication skills and an excellent work ethic.

POSITION 13: TRUCK AND TRUCK & TRAILOR  DRIVER
We have an opportunity for an experienced Truck and Truck & Trailer driver to join our team in Hamilton.

Applicants will need to possess the following:
  • Hold a current clean NZ Class 5 and 6 Licence
  • Truck and Trailer experience with carting Aggregates, Pit Sand, Spoil etc to and from site, and in and out of quarries
  • Good references
  • NZ residency or current valid NZ Work Visa
  • WTR endorsement would be an advantage
 Applicants will also need:
  • A current understanding of NZ conditions and H&S regulations
  • An excellent work ethic, and the ability to work unsupervised and efficiently
  • To be reliable and hardworking, with a willingness to carry out labouring or similar duties if and when required
  • Some mechanical knowledge relating to truck maintenance
  • Good verbal, and written communication skills for completing log books, timesheets and the like

POSITION 14: INTERNAL POSITION OPPORTUNITY - TAURANGA CONTRACTS MANAGER

There’s a vacancy for a Contract Manager in Tauranga. Although we plan to publish this job opening to external channels, we strongly encourage any current employee who is interested in the role to apply.

Our new Tauranga Contract Manager will initially work on the Land Development team and be responsible for Managing the Adler subdivision, however the opportunity to grow the workload and take on other projects is a great challenge.

Schick wish to grow our internal teams and staff, and this is a chance for someone to take on a new role and further their career with Schick Civil.
