|Schick is a company with long serving employees with a passion for the work they undertake. Many employees started with Schick prior to Pat Peoples joining the company in 2000. As the employees developed new skills and experience the company enjoyed considerable growth both in annual turnover and capability. The success of our business is our on-site staff who deliver the physical works. Our site supervisors, foremen and work crews are experienced in stormwater, sewer, water main installations including pump stations, associated valving and pipework, services trenching, bulk earthworks and excavations, road surfacing, kerbing, pavement and landscaping works.
Employees are empowered and trained to make decisions that directly and positively benefit our clients and other stakeholders. They are ready to mobilise to service projects at any location within New Zealand.
All administration support is based at the Hamilton head office together with civil engineers, land surveyors, quantity surveyors, contracts and project managers, quality assurance and audit, health and safety managers, plant and diesel mechanics.
Our Partners - Earthworks Waikato, Central Plant Hire and Cowper also operate from our Hamilton Office.

|Pat joined Schick in 2000 as General Manager, liked what he saw and in July 2003 had the opportunity to acquire the company. Under Pat’s leadership Schick has significantly expanded from its origin as a rural digging and cartage business with 17 employees to now over 200 employees successfully delivering a wide range of civil construction works throughout New Zealand. In addition to the core business of civil construction Pat also developed affiliated companies Central Plant Hire, Earthworks Waikato and Cowper Haulage each contributing considerably to the in -house capability of the group.
Schick has benefited from a strong and capable management team as well as the continuous improvement from use of advanced electronic systems to better manage the ever growing fleet of plant and vehicles.
With a strong team in support, Pat continues to develop new business opportunities to take the company to the next exciting step in the constantly changing environment that construction offers and thereby ensure that Schick remain a market leader in all things civil construction.
|As the NZ Operations Manager Mark is responsible for delivery and performance across all areas of the business. Mark joined Schick in 2001 as an engineering surveyor and prior to becoming a shareholder in 2009 held project management roles. Mark was appointed Divisional Manager in 2009 when Schick was stretching its legs and his considerable industry knowledge and experience was put to great benefit across the business.
Mark provides management support to the regional offices and is the go to person for client enquiries as Mark heads new business within Schick Civil Construction. Despite his expanding role, the offices in Waikato, Christchurch and Auckland are self-governing ensuring Mark’s focus on the key attributes pivotal to Schick’s growth; delivering quality outcomes.

|With the support of Schick’s Waikato head office, Ryan is well placed as Regional Manager to continue the company’s history of strong performance throughout the central north island.
||Schick established a regional office in Christchurch in 2012, largely in response to the earthquake and the work opportunities that resulted. Based around relocating experienced earthworks and pavement crews from its Hamilton office the operation in Christchurch has expanded to include three highly experienced drainage crews.

|Ryan has over 15 years’ experience in roading and civil construction in both large scale public capital works programmes and private developments delivered under traditional type contracts and alliances.
With substantial project management experience, excellent technical knowledge, and strong communications skills Ryan is a dependable leader and project director. He as a proven ability to build and maintain effective relationships, and works collaboratively with the wider teams to facilitate quality project outcomes.
Ryan was appointed Regional Manager in 2016. He is responsible for new business and manages an increasing portfolio of work in the Waikato and surrounding areas. Providing management support to his direct reports Ryan is responsible for ensuring the region has the resource, capability and capacity to deliver the forward work load, and continuously improve quality outcomes and safety standards and awareness to benefit Schick and its clients
|Sam joined Schick in 2009 as a contract manager. In that time he managed over forty contracts ranging in value from $30k to $11 million. He transferred to Christchurch in 2015 to oversee the completion of the $6.5 million Acute Services Building for the Christchurch District Health Board.
Appointed Regional Manager Sam is now responsible for new business and overseeing the execution and delivery of all services in Christchurch, Canterbury and South Island.
With over 12 years’ experience in project management Sam has an enviable knowledge of the industry and talent to instinctively recognise the key project drivers when many competing demand exist. Paramount to the success of the Christchurch office is Sam’s leadership, guidance and mentoring to develop the culture of good staff well -being based on a healthy and safe work environment.
Having developed a dependable supply chain of local specialist services providers, Sam is now looking forward to growing the business as Christchurch regains its pre earthquake market trends.
